Pliqd maintains a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). The safety of children is a non-negotiable priority, and we take every measure to prevent, detect, and respond to any form of child endangerment on our platform.
Pliqd (developed by Pliqd, available on Google Play and the App Store as "pliqd") strictly prohibits any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including but not limited to:
- Any content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors.
- Sharing, distributing, or soliciting child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Grooming or any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for the purpose of exploitation.
- Any communication that sexualizes minors in any way.
- Sextortion or coercion involving minors.
- Trafficking of minors.
Any account found to be involved in CSAE of any kind will be immediately and permanently terminated. Pliqd will report all instances to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement authorities.
01. Age Verification & Access Controls
Pliqd is designed exclusively for users who are 18 years of age or older. We employ multiple layers of verification to ensure that minors cannot access our platform.
- Minimum Age Requirement: All users must be 18 years or older to create an account on Pliqd.
- University Email Verification: Registration requires a valid university email address (.edu), ensuring users are enrolled college students.
- Date of Birth Collection: Date of birth is collected and verified during the registration process.
- Suspected Minor Accounts: Accounts suspected of being operated by minors are immediately suspended pending verification.
- Not Directed at Children: Pliqd is not directed at, designed for, or intended for use by individuals under 18.
02. In-App Reporting Mechanisms
Pliqd provides multiple in-app mechanisms for users to report concerning content or behavior. Reports involving potential CSAE are prioritized and escalated immediately.
- Report a User: Tap the menu icon on any user's profile to report them.
- Report a Message: Long-press any message in chat to access reporting options.
- Report a Post: Tap the menu icon on any feed post to report inappropriate content.
- Report a Photo: Report any inappropriate photos through the profile reporting feature.
- Block & Report: Users can immediately block any account and submit a report simultaneously.
All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Reports involving potential CSAE are treated with the highest priority and escalated for immediate action.
03. Content Moderation & CSAM Detection
Pliqd employs a multi-layered approach to content moderation that combines automated detection systems with human review to identify and remove child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and other harmful content.
- Active Monitoring: Pliqd actively monitors user-generated content for potential CSAM and other policy violations.
- Automated Detection: Automated detection systems flag suspicious content for human review.
- Human Review: Our moderation team reviews flagged content and user reports promptly to confirm violations and take action.
- NCMEC CyberTipline Reporting: Confirmed CSAM is immediately removed and reported to NCMEC via the CyberTipline.
- Permanent Bans: Accounts involved in CSAM distribution are permanently banned and reported to law enforcement.
- Record Retention: We retain relevant records as required by law to assist law enforcement investigations.
04. Legal Compliance
Pliqd complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act): Pliqd does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age.
- 18 U.S.C. 2258A: Pliqd complies with mandatory reporting requirements for apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC.
- PROTECT Act: Full compliance with federal laws prohibiting child exploitation and related offenses.
- State Laws: Compliance with all applicable state child safety and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Google Play & App Store Guidelines: Full compliance with platform-specific child safety policies and content standards.
05. Enforcement Actions
When CSAE or CSAM is identified on Pliqd, we take the following actions swiftly and decisively:
- Immediate Content Removal: Offending content is removed immediately upon detection or confirmation of a violation.
- Permanent Account Termination: The offending account is permanently banned with no option for appeal or reinstatement.
- NCMEC CyberTipline Report: A report is filed with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children through the CyberTipline.
- Law Enforcement Cooperation: Relevant information is preserved and shared with law enforcement authorities as required by law.
